"Ownership"
This is a word which in my industry means the person 'responsible' for action.
We have PI Coordinators appointed to all of the Districts (apart from two) that I have been assigned to work with.
The Districts in my area include the 6 New Zealand and Pacific Island Districts along with 11 from Australia. PDG Dick Garner is looking after the remaining Districts in Australia.
And what does this all mean? Well I see it as a privilege to be given 'ownership' of activity to increase and enhance the profile of Rotary in our region.
My goals are the same as your goals:
- To be involved with and to conduct training and to promote the use of PR Resources
- To encourage the use of social media to communicate to new audiences
- To promote Rotary's effort to End Polio Now
- To support 23 February events
- To increase positive media coverage for Rotary
- To engage Rotary leadership in Public Relations
As Rotarians we all 'own' the image we portray to our community. Let's support of PI Coordinators as they work with the District and the Governor to fulfil one of the 3 major areas of our Strategic Plan.
