In a matter of a few days the image of London has been significantly damaged by the actions of a minority of young people.
This has not only shocked those living in England but has shocked the world.
The media has broadcast some horrific footage and the world has had these images beamed into their homes showing how quickly a city's image can change. From the pomp and circumstance of the recent Royal Wedding, we now have the charred remains, bloodied citizens, riot police and the nation 'at war' with the lawless fraternity.
The city's "public image" is such a vital and valuable aspect of a community and, in this case, it has appeared so fragile as they prepare for next year's Olympics.
