Great profile activities in Otaki, NZ

Reported by Chris Dungan (President - Rotary Club of Otaki)

Hi Guys and Gals

What a week we've had!

Thursday -  Meet The Candidates .  The 4 main Candidates for the Otaki electorate, 160 public , at times a vigorous exchange of ideas and some extremely positive feed back from  both the candidates and the public. I mean who is going to vote for the NZ First guy now???.
A really positive night for Rotary's profile in the district, someone even commented how smart the blue and gold shirts looked. Thanks to those who took the time to wear them
A huge thanks to Grant for a successful night.

[New Zealand's General Election is next weekend - Ed]

Saturday - Big Bang Adventure Race. Over  260 competitors meals served in the field at the Otaki Gorge in cold and windy conditions.

A huge profile for Rotary and our club, competitors came from all over the Nth Island, some of our raffle tickets ended up in Rotorua! Looks like we will make around $1600 AND the event organiser indicated she would like us back for next year's event.
Thanks to everyone who helped!!

Sunday - Trailer Raffle again, some pretty rubbish weather conditions especially for those who slaved over a hot BBQ on Saturday. 63 books sold makes nearly 1300 out of 1500 sold already. Next weekend at New World should see the finish of that too.
