Exciting times ahead for Rotary world-wide

I am about to come home!  I have spent the last 5 days in Chicago at a training Institute with my fellow Rotary Public Image Coordinators where we have been joined by the Rotary Coordinators and only today with the Rotary Foundation Coordinators.  A truly international gathering.
Today we were addressed by our General Secretary John Hewko who outlined the major areas of focus.

These are:
  1. The eradication of polio - there are now only 3 countries where polio is endemic - Afghanistan, Nigeria and Pakistan.
  2. The implementation of the new grant model for The Rotary Foundation
  3. The capturing of the world-wide value of all Rotary projects outside of The Foundation - "Rotary Club Central" will allow Clubs to record their activity and for the first time Rotarians will see the value of our activity across the globe
  4. Making Rotary more appealing to potential members and especially those young adults who are looking for an organisation with a real cause.  This will involve revitalising our brand, upgrading of RI web site and developing further strategies with the use of social media
  5. The 'Project Enhancement' focus where Water and Sanitation case studies and projects will be developed where Rotary Clubs can participate.

There is much exciting change ahead!
