Sydney for Director's Briefing

This weekend Philip Archer and I are both in Sydney at the Director's briefing sponsored by Rotary Down Under.  Director John Boag is keen for all the incoming 2013/14 District Governors to meet and share ideas and to learn about the programmes in our region.  We met at the Regional RI Office in Friday and then at the RDU offices in the afternoon.  Today we will here from many presenters and tomorrow Philip and I will be able to give them an overview on the role of Rotary Public Image Coordinators and PR Grants.
It was great to have General Secretary John Hewko video call in to open the event and he has a very clear message that we continue the goals on eliminating Polio, increasing membership, using Rotary Club Central and Showcase together information of the value we add to the community and to also focus on the Foundation and Future Vision.  RI President Elect Ron Burton is with us and spoke last night at our dinner at the Old Government House - he spoke of the focus on membership he will continue and the need for us all to play our part in promoting the good work Rotary does in the world.  He has spent the last week videoing in preparation for his Conference in Sydney in 2014.
