One last thing we want to mention. Rotary is full of great
ideas. If you take a step back and think about the Polio eradication
effort, it all came about from the idea of a club in the Philippines.
They wanted to do a foundation grant to immunize kids in their country.
It was so successful, other clubs copied their efforts, and now Rotary is
on the brink of eradicating Polio entirely around the world. Nothing
better illustrates the power of a great idea.
So with that, the last piece of the new website is the new idea
platform. A place where clubs can post their local club projects (or ideas),
whether service oriented or not, and work towards obtaining funding (more than
money) from the general public or other Rotarians. How does this work? Well
let’s take a look. When you visit the new Rotary.org tomorrow, you can see a
number of actual club projects looking for assistance. It will look like this:
