Rotarians in New Zealand and the Pacific are
thrilled that three of New Zealand's Olympic Gold Medalist (Mahe
Drysdale, Eric Murray and Hamish Bond) have agreed to support the
international campaign to rid the world of Polio.
It was many years ago that New Zealanders were threatened by this dreadful disease. In fact today cases have dropped 99% since the campaign began back in 1985. Rotary International has worked closely with the World Health Organisation and many other agencies to fight the disease. We are 'This Close' to completing the job.
