It was interesting to visit the home of the "RDU"
John Cole and Rob Crabtree are part of those
attentively listening to the range of presenters
The Director's Briefing in Sydney last weekend saw all DGE's from both Australia and New Zealand assemble in Parramatta.  The programme allowed the group to be hosted in the RI Regional Office as well as in the Rotary Down Under offices.  At these sessions we received excellent presentations from RI staff and the RDU team.  Not only was it informative, but it also allowed everyone to put a face to the name!!  That was on the Friday.  Saturday and Sunday saw a range of presentations from a variety of programmes that Rotary supports including Disaster Aide Australia, ROMAC, Interplast, RYDA, Shelter Box, Cure Kids, Australian Rotary Health, Star-Jam!, Fred Hollows Foundation, Probus, Operation Cleft, Science Experience, Transplant Australia and New Generations. It was also good to have the Aussies and Kiwis together - especially as the All Blacks and Wallabies rugby match was played just prior to the Saturday meal.  For some it was a joyous occasion.  Director Stuart could hardly contain a broad grin as he "sympathised" with his fellow Australians.

The 3 New Zealand-based coordinators -
John Cole (Rotary Foundation), Howard Tong (Public Image)
and Rob Crabtree (Rotary Coordinator)

As Public Image Coordinators, Dick and I had the opportunity to meet up with those Districts we are supporting in Australia and New Zealand/Pacific Islands.
The message to DGE's for Public Image was simple - start planning now on interDistrict Public Image projects, place money in the budget for the PR Grant 2012/13 and to appoint or confirm the ongoing appointment of an effective  Public Image chair for their District.
