The right message?

Well - in the public image arena this has been an interesting week for New Zealand.  The Rugby World Cup is soon to commence and the country is becoming more and more focused on getting everything right for the thousands of overseas guests who are coming to our country.  And what does Telecom, one of the major sponsors, do?  Launch an ad campaign that was not only in bad taste, but also caused a degree of embarrasement for all New Zelanders.  It has all gone wrong - so much so in fact that the campaign has been pulled.  But not before our Australian friends have taken advantage of the situation with their own 'counter punch'.

Image is so vital and I am not sure this fiasco has done anything for ours!!
Public notice and atention is one thing - the message is another, and perhaps a more important apect of any media campaign.
