New Zealand Rotarians join to help Taveuni

The keys are handed to Taveuni
District Officer by Geoff Amos
I have recently received photos of the Wellington Free “Rotary” Ambulance being delivered to Taveuni Island.
This has been a project where all 6 Districts have contributed and I believe it is a wonderful example of what we can do collectively to assist our Pacific neighbours.

Rotarian Geoffrey Amos has been the contact point over in Taveuni and said in a recent communication, “here are some photos of the ambulance arriving on vessel SOFE

journey and asked hospital staff to list complete inventory inside ambulance.  Our sincere thanks for all everyone has done to make this possible.   With our grateful thanks, best wishes and we think the ambulance (with Rotary branding) looks great.”

This was what Taveuni used to use for an ambulance

Prior to the arrival of the ambulance, Wellington Free arranged for a paramedic to travel to the island to complete training.  It is hoped that projects of a similar kind can continue as we support our neighbours in the Pacific.
