Walking for the Philippines in Wellington

When the new underpass opens in 2014 we have arranged thro the Memorial Park Alliance to have a fun day thro the tunnel prior to the opening for traffic which will include a fundraiser for Polio Plus however we have been given an opportunity, at short notice to raise funds on the 24th November thro the trench.

We are planning to have a public open day / walk through of the trench. The details are confirmed to be between 10am and 1pm with the public entering at the Sussex St (Basin Reserve ) end of the trench and walking through to exit at the Taranaki St end. We will need to be there by 9.30am.
Rotary has liaised with the Memorial Park Alliance to help marshal the public at either end and an opportunity to make a collection.

The Memorial Park Alliance will provide staff to be along the trench to provide any technical advise the public requires.

There will be publicity provided by the Memorial Park Alliance both thro them and the Wellington City Council promoting the day and we have decided that the fundraising will go to the Philippines Relief Funds thro RNZWCS which I am sure will get great publicity for Rotary.
