Giving to the community today in New Zealand

Karori Rotarian has a check up
Today Rotarians across the country in New Zealand  joined forces with the Stroke Foundation, St Johns and Foodstuffs supermarkets to front the "Down with Blood Pressure Campaign".  Members of the community were provided an opportunity to have a free blood pressure check.

I believe Rotary needs to form greater partnerships and collaborate more with other community organizations to enable our service organisation  to contribute even more to the good of society in the future.

The pressure is on in New Zealand

The Stroke Foundation, assisted by St John Ambulance and Rotary, has teamed up with Foodstuffs supermarkets (New World and Pak N Save) again to offer the tests as part of its annual awareness campaign. High blood pressure is the single biggest risk factor for stroke and regular testing is the best way to spot the danger and get help in keeping your blood pressure healthy.

Free blood pressure tests for shoppers – Saturday 12 May 2012

Get a free blood pressure test on Saturday at New World & PAK’n’SAVE supermarkets. High blood pressure is the biggest single risk factor for stroke and most people don’t even know what their own pressure is. The Stroke Foundation with St John, Rotary and Foodstuffs supermarkets is offering free checks this Saturday 12 May. It’s quick and painless and it could save your life! See http://www.stroke.org.nz/stroke-blood-pressure-campaign for details of participating supermarkets.
