Rotary hits the air

From the Feb/Mar campaign
Over the next 8 weeks Rotary will be advertising on the radio network.  This is part of the national campaign and will be using part of the PR Grant received from Rotary International - supported by contributions from each of the 6 Districts.
What has previously occurred with such campaigns is a rise in the use of the 0800 4 Rotary phone service and with an increased request for information abut membership.  A 112 spots in total.

Your PR Chair has the details and will be able to advise how to use other forms of media to support this campaign.
  • Promote your speaker programme.
  • Increase the profile of your projects
  • Market your meetings and encourage members to invite guests

Remember - you and your fellow members are the best marketing agents.

To be broadcast between

The comms all air during Larry Williams Drive 16:00 - 19:00, there will be 20 paid spots and 36 bonus spots during Oct and this is repeated in Nov. Do share this activity with your clubs.

Use your Public Image Coordinator

For all those Districts with planning in place for the next Rotary year, remember this!

Each Zone has a Rotary Public Image Coordinator who is available to assist in presentations, training and advice when you hold your President Elect training and also for Conference and District Assembly gatherings.

RPIC's Philip Archer (Zone 8)  and Howard Tong (Zone 7b)
To find your local one click here....

Rotary public image coordinators (RPICs) provide guidance and resources on effective public relations to enhance Rotary's public image. The 49 RPICs work in partnership with their zone's RI director, regional Rotary Foundation coordinator, Rotary coordinator, and district governors.
RPICs have professional expertise in public relations, journalism, or communications. They support the RI Strategic Plan by conveying the methods of effective public relations to district leaders.

Rotary Central - launched and active!

Every day, thousands of Rotarians make a positive difference in people’s lives locally and internationally. Rotary’s impact on the world begins at the club level. To better measure how your club contributes to Rotary’s success, we created Rotary Club Central, an online tool that will empower you and club leaders to track your club’s goals, progress, and achievements in key performance areas.

This new tool will help you monitor a club’s membership initiatives, service activities, and Foundation giving.

Your clubs may already be determining their 2013-14 goals using the Planning Guide for Effective Rotary Clubs. Please encourage them to log in to Member Access and use Rotary Club Central to help guide their goal setting activities.

As a district leader, you can view a summary of your district’s achievements, or those of a particular club. If a club is unable to enter goals, any district leader can edit a club’s summary data on behalf of the club. The club president will be notified by email when any changes are made to their club. Please make sure that club leader email addresses are current in Member Access.

We invite you to give us feedback on your experience with Rotary Club Central (within the tool, click the Feedback link to open the form). Your responses will help improve the experience for Rotarians worldwide.

In the coming months you will see additional goals in the tool. We will keep you informed as new and improved functionality is added.

If you have questions, please email us or contact your Club and District Support representative.
Regards,
John Hewko

Right Royal profile

Further to the previous Blog, the incoming President of a local Wellington Club (Porirua Sundown) had written to the Queen congratulating her on her Silver Jubilee and to also note the fact that the local Rotary Club was also celebrating it's 50th year.

The response from Buckingham Palace - read here ...
